stranger danger...

ok, so i took a little hiatus...i've completely lost track of days so i'm not going to even attempt to calculate what day this is... new slate... old one not wiped clean, instead, shattered! ....once i completely got out of my routine, my brain had too much fun being a rebellious junkie and piece of laziness so, i've had a long long talk with it...and tony...and it's time for a change. so here's another try, since it's never too late to try again (maybe that attitude put me in this place to begin with, you know 'oh whatever, i'll get back into it again later. it's never too late to try') see what i mean! i can't believe i can even pull a fast one on myself!! ugggghh. so round two. let's start again and see what happens. my new deadline is weekend retreat with tony. so three months. let's see what i can do...

got to move it move it...

{day four four} i'm trying to spend more time outdoors and less time in front of the computer or tv...well mainly computer because tv doesn't do much for me, i have to be really bored or really lazy...but i can spend all day on the computer reading and searching for music. ok, back to point. i left my ipod, watch, and stupid pedometer! (that one i didn't want to leave!) at home. i wanted to reconnect with mother earth and the birds, wind, kids laughter in the distance, my breathing...and the occasional damn dog with the stick up it's butt barking at me....was my rhythm. i went five miles and enjoyed it. great way to clear my head and relax. but i'm still a little ticked that i forgot the pedometer....that could have been almost 12 or 15 thousand points! ughhhh! okay. breathe. okay breathe again. okay one more time. okay. totally over it now. oh and p.s. i'm officially an old woman because i had to take a nap (which i always believed to be a waste of time and could never do) as soon as i got home just to get the energy to get out of the house. and i think napping is going to have to start becoming routine. lovely.

{day four three} i don't know what is up. i came home around 5:30, fell asleep at 6:00 and woke up @ 9! lied in bed, waited till tony got home and then went back to sleep around 11:30ish. SO tired. again, what's up with that?

back to reality...

{day four two} i'm done with spanish. i've exhausted my espanol number knowledge. so back to the mission. let's see. today i walked for an hour. i got my free pedometer from virgin health miles last week (a promotional health thingy that the school district is trying this year) and put it to work today. 7 thousand and something steps. i synced it and after browsing the website i realized that with the steps i can earn points and with the points i can purchase fitness monitors or gift cards to target or amazon.com or other worthy stores. very cool!

starting the monday right...

{day veintiocho} thank you. thank you. i would like to thank the many littles who without, this great accomplishment would not have been possible. i would like to thank stir fry veggies and brown rice for giving the calories and energy needed to move my lovely junk in my trunk. i would like to thank all the lovely beats, high and low, residing in my ipod. especially mister doctor dre and eminem. you are the hip and the hop in my stride. i'd like to thank my mizunos and my dri fit clothing. and last but not least the wind. you made it all the most enjoyable. without all of you i would not have ran FIVE miles nonstop! that's right. hills and all! woohoo! it felt good to still have energy for my victory dance.

riding in the wind...

{day veintiseis} tony and i went to castroville today. we rode our bikes along medina river and faced a couple of hills. the butt, unbelievably sore. but the wind in my face. totally worth it! we rode for maybe an hour and a half.

fundraiser movie night...

{day veinticinco} spring break! finally, a week off to do whatever i want. this freedom, of course, started after our grade level's fundraiser movie night. madagascar two, sausage tacos, nachos and jalapenos, hot cheetos and cheese, soda, all the sweets and candy you can imagine. what else could kids want? if was a fun night. but unfortunately no workout...

{day veinticuatro} man i had to drag myself to the elliptical today. i did my hour workout and then my 8 minute abs, buns, and arms. the i fell asleep on my mat. jeez. one more day till SPRING BREAK! and sleeping in... ahhhh.

{day dieciseis} my legs felt so heavy and tired today. i decided to walk the hilly three mile. so i also did the cardio workout on my wedding dvd workout and the upper body strength workout, and ended with chaz's yoga for flexibility podcast. still following the eating plan.

{day quince} i pulled off an hour on the elliptical while watching rich bride poor bride... those demanding brides are crazy... almost had to switch the channel. i also started my self challenge eating plan. so far so good! i also did my lower body workout.

yee-ha!!

{day trece} today tony and went to the rodeo with elva and anthony but first, elva dropped by the house early in the day for a morning run. the girl ran the whole thing and helped me with my fastest time of 36 minutes. although i still didn't run the whole route. soon. soon. the weather was perfect and the run felt great. why can't this girl come back to san antonio??

{day doce} today there was no time to workout. tony and i went over to a lovely friend's house for a get together she was having. there was delicious food and lovely company. we saw the movie fireproof, a movie that deals with marriage issues and how to hold strong by the grace and help of GOD. it was a fun and memorable night and sure worth missing a day of burning some cals.

{day once} eventhough i ate some good barbecue today, i worked very hard on the wedding invitations so i'm taking a break. and it's going to be 11pm and i should be asleep already. the invitations are so lovely. my inner thighs are soooo sore from the lower body workout yesterday. that means it's working! just where i need it too!

what can i say...

{day diez} i've been tired lately since i've been staying up way past my bedtime. although it's been worth it because i get to see tony when he comes home, it's taking it's effect. but i can't let that get in the way. it was a beautiful day and i dragged my legs out. i really have a long way to go as far as being as fit as i can be. but that gives me drive. i just really hope that i'll have the strength and determination to keep it up. i ran 3 miles again. still haven't ran the whole way. the hills, gravity, and my bootay don't mix. i did my upper body workout and when i tried to do the lower body, i couldn't. but i'm going to get there and i'm going to remember this day when i felt 'how in the world am i suppose to do that?!?'

{day nueve} i barely beat the clock i guess. it's 12 am on tuesday, well it was tuesday. did a faster elliptical time. yes. and i found my long lost 8 minutes ab and buns workout on youtube. i forgot how funny and corny the instructor was. wow my abs and buns burned!

And i had a longer mileage on my 48 minute elliptical workout. feeling GOOD.

{day siete} what a weekend! i'm taking a BREAK. i did buy some 5lb weights to accompany me and my wedding workout dvd and the self challenge that's coming up on the 19th. my abs are totally sore. by buns, not so much. i guess there's that much going on back there. i wonder if they still sell 10 minute buns of steel? hmm. good night.

a little competition...

{day seis} tony and i ran 3 miles in the morning and he actually ran the whole thing. i'm envious. i'll get there. i did finish faster. 38 minutes. after we ran we did some sit ups. i did 40 and he did 41. i think to prove a point or maybe as he likes to say, use some reverse psychology on me. whatever it is, it's working cause i will do more than 40 next time. then he did some weights while i did my buns workout to help contain the ortiz booty . now we're off to eat some barbecue!

{day cinco} today i lovingly did nothing as far as working out is concerned. tony treated me to a nice valentine's dinner at the alsatian restaurant in castroville, tx. we sat outside and the view was beautiful and relaxing. and relaxation is an important key to any workout program...

no regretting...

{day cuatro} i spent most of the evening "making" tony's little valentine something something and i was so tired when i finished. i wanted to go straight to bed and i couldn't help but think that i would have to blog that i did NOTHING. ugh. cringe. i'm on a roll, i don't want to mess it up when i really could work out. it's not like i had something else i had to do. so i got on the elliptical for a 48 minute go and lucky for me millionaire matchmaker was on. 48 minutes flew. glad we set the machine smack in front of the tv.

she's like the wind...

{day tres} okay. not like the wind. more like a choo chootrain. chuga chuga chuga chugging on and on. at least that's what it felt like running today. my half way point was nice and flat and running felt sooo good. almost like the wind and then i got a cramp. one of those small annoying cramps in the middle of the foot as it flexes. funny thing is that when i ran on monday, the exact same thing happened. right after my half way point, the run was so easy and then i got that same cramp. i wonder why. i ran/walked and took an easy going 41 minutes. i know someday i'll get to run the whole thing once i get used to those hills. and although the end felt great and i felt like the ease queen ortiz, the beginning was more huff puff ortiz, not fun...

wow...

{day dos} i don't remember the elliptical being that torturous and burning. i have to admit i felt more motivated yesterday to get moving but, nevertheless i got it did. 48 minutes of omg-ing up and down faster and slower. i put in some 30 second crazy speed intervals. it was easy to do while watching predator vs. alien. ugh. the sweat felt really good but my arms and legs feel like jello. so i think that's a good thing.

everything starts from something...

{day uno} i just signed up for the self countdown to the challenge. i downloaded some get moving tunes and walked myself up and down some hills in the neighborhood. i walked a good three miles and ran here and there. i finally opened up my wedding workout video and got my seven bucks worth. yeah.
